Bountiful Baskets

in Local Deals, Organic

Up until a few months ago I'd never heard of Bountiful Baskets but now I'm happy I found them. I received an email from a reader a few months ago that we would be getting a Bountiful Baskets Co-op in our area starting in May.  Currently, Bountiful Basket is available in: Texas, Idaho, Colorado, South Dakota, Oregon, Wyoming, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, and Washington.

Currently our local area is only recieving baskets once every 2 weeks. Most other locations get deliveries once a week. Here's how it works:

Each week you order your basket online(South Dakota is available starting Monday at noon) The conventional baskets are $15 and you can upgrade to an organic basket for $25. They also have extras available that you can purchase with your regular basket, like last time I ordered 2 25lb boxes of organic Roma tomatoes for only $16 each.

So, you order your basket on Monday and the truck delivers the fruit and vegetables on Saturday. Volunteers can come to the site early and help sort out the produce. then you bring your own basket and pick up your share of produce.

I wish I would have gotten a picture of my last pick up but I forgot! If you are interested I can taken one next week when I order again. The first week we ordered the organic basket and I've been very happy with it. It was about 20 - 25lb of all certified organic produce. Last week we picked up a conventional basket for my mom along with my tomatoes and it was at least 20 -25lbs of produce.

Does anyone else order from Bountiful Baskets? Have you been happy with what you've gotten?

Merissa,
Where here in Rapid is the pick-up for these items? This sounds like a great buy and something that I might really be interested in.
Thanks,
CKay K.

The current pick up spot is in a warehouse behind Tractor Supply. They are going to be opening another drop spot in Sturgis and hopefully more drop sites in Rapid also.

We do not have Bountiful baskets but we do have Angel Food Ministries. They have upgraded from what they had in the previous years and you can order Meat, produce, Allergen Free or Senior boxes. If your in an area where meat or produce is very expensive and it’s not possible for you to grow your own then these are a big help. http://www.angelfoodministries.com

This sounds great – I’m going to talk to the hubby (he’s the cook!)

I have used Bountiful basket for a couple of years now and have really enjoyed it, its fun and interesting to see what you get, however the last little while it has not been a great value like it was when it first started, I am barely getting the $15.00 worth and the quality has gone down too. So disappointing I hope they get back to what they once were.

Merissa, I know this thread is old but I can not seem to get on the right schedule with Bountiful Baskets. I have an account and see that Box Elder is a A week, but when is that? Everytime I go on the site on Mondays to ‘contribute’ I don;t see any SD sites as Current Offers. Can you pst here (but also email me the Next Saturday pick up so I can contribute the preceeding Monday? Thank you!

I’ve been posting reminders of when it’s our week to order on the Dakota Savers Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/dakotasavers. Next Monday is our week to order again!

I have been trying to figure out where the Bountiful Basket Pick-up is in Rapid City. I have talked to my pastor and we are discussing having a pickup site on the southeast side but I cant find the Elgin/LaCross site to go volunteer. Please help me. Thank you. Thank you, Lori

Yes, that will be the next drop day. Bummer! Well maybe next time…unless you can get someone to pick it up for you.
