I will start by saying I'm not 100% happy with these cookies yet, but nevertheless they are yummy. Call this recipe a work in progress.
What you need:
- 2 1/4 c. flour
- 1 t. baking soda
- 1 t. salt
- 1 c. melted butter
- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 1/2 t. vanilla
- 1 c. chocolate chips
Mix all the ingredients together. The mixture should be crumbly.
Form into balls and put on a cookie sheet. I tried to do this with my muffin scooper but the mixture was a little too dry. So I formed them into balls instead. Then bake them at 375F for about 5 minutes, flatten with a spatula. Then bake about another 8-10 minutes. Let them cool on the cookie sheet for a few minutes and then transfer them to a wire rack to cool.
I will update this post as I work on this recipe!

My great-grandmother made brown sugar cookies, it had sour cream in the recipe.
How much sour cream? Do you know?
Thanks!

I love how it looks. It really looks that it will burst some chocolate. LOL. My grandmother too adds some sour cream in her recipe. I don’t think what the sour cream is for.
My favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe is this one: http://notwithoutsalt.com/2010/06/27/chocolate-chip-cookies-revisted/
. . . except I use dark brown sugar for all the listed sugar, and I let the dough rest for two days in the refrigerator.
Love this blog, by the way. Truly, truly inspiring! God bless your family.
Adding this to twitter great info.
