How to Make Blueberry Gummies

The boys and I are always looking for a fresh yummy snack to enjoy together, especially this time of year when we are outside all day enjoying the beautiful spring weather. Some days we take our blanket out on the lawn and just enjoy a little snack picnic while we watch the clouds go by. It really is the best way to enjoy this season.

We love pairing these homemade gummies with our outdoor recreation time because they are so easy and they pack a delicious punch of healthy amino acids (from the gelatin) and the simplicity of 100% juice for a fresh fruit flavor. Plus they only take a few minutes to make. So simple!

What You Need:

Yes, that really is it! If you want to ensure a healthy treat, be sure and pick a high-quality gelatin that comes from a reputable source and a juice that is 100% juice just like the R.W. Knudsen JUST juice line. They have Just Blueberry, Just Black Cherry, Just Cranberry, Just Pomegranate, and Just Tart Cherry. We also like the R.W. Knudsen Concord Grape Juice and we already have a bottle in our pantry and are planning on using it for our next batch of gummies. 🙂

Place one cup of the R.W. Knudsen JUST Blueberry Juice in a saucepan on the stove over a low heat. You don’t need to boil the juice, just warm it up. Add in the maple syrup if you choose to use it.

While the first cup of juice is heating up, place the other cup of juice in a bowl and add in the gelatin. Stir the mixture with a fork until well blended. Try not to leave any clumps, they don’t taste the best in the finished product.

Combine the cool mixture into the warm mixture on the stovetop and whisk until completely combined.

Using a dropper and some clean candy molds, place the blueberry gummy mixture into the molds. The number of molds that you will need will depend on the size of the molds you have. This recipe will make just over 2 cups of gummies so it’s something to think about when you buy your molds. If you don’t have a lot of molds you can make a half a batch at a time.

Carefully place the gummy molds into your refrigerator. The gummies should be fully set up in about an hour. After they are set up, remove the gummies from the molds and enjoy!

Store any gummies that you don’t eat right away in an airtight bag or container in the refrigerator.

  1. I love everything blueberry! Are the molds difficult to clean? Looking at the photo…do you buy your gelatin in bulk? My youngest child is seventeen but our family still loves to eat gummies!!!

  2. Where did you get the gummy bears molds? How much juice mix do you need per mold? Thank you so much.

  3. Oh no ways, you can make gummies from scratch. You’ve just blown my mind and our grocery budget is going to thank you. We spend so much money every month buying wine gums. This changes everything

  7. Isn’t this the coolest idea! Boy, I wish I had known about this when my kids were small!! They loved gummy bears and this would be not only the purrect solution economically speaking but a healthier choice to the commercial sugary versions. I’m going to save this recipe to try someday, maybe for future grandkids. 🙂

  10. Awesome… My son keeps bugging me to buy the kits from the stores, after he saw an episode on Graveyard Girl (a you tuber that tries as seen on TV type stuff) where she tests the gummy bear kit, but after I looked at the ingredients, I said nah! Lol! Glad I found your yogurt pops, that then lead me here!… Even tho it literally took me 20 min to type this out on my phone, due to all the pop up ads, lol. Thanks for sharing this! I’ll be hunting down the stuff today

    1. Hi Em, there should not be any popup ads here on Little House Living, you may want to run a virus scan on your computer to be sure that there isn’t an issue there.

  11. These sound wonderful! I’ve got just one question: can I combine juices? I know a great fan of blueberries & black cherries who would be happy to try those two mixed together. He is a diabetic, so this is ideal as a Christmas gift.
