How to put together and inexpensive family gift basket for pasta night, a thoughtful and practical gift for your friends and neighbors.
Pasta Night Family Gift Idea
I love putting together simple homemade gift baskets for gifts. I like that you can personalize them perfectly for your recipient, and they are perfect for those times when you need just a little bit more than a single gift item. They also work great for family gifts!
This gift basket is one that I’ve given to friends and neighbors in past years, and it has been well received! It’s always nice to take a meal to your friends, but a meal like this means they can eat it whenever they are hungry and not just on the day you bring it over.

What to Put in a Pasta Gift Basket
One reason I love making these gift baskets is that you can be so creative with what you include in them. Here are some pasta gift basket ideas that I have included in my spaghetti gift baskets:
- A jar of Pasta Sauce (You could also do home-canned, or home canned tomatoes with a packet of Italian Seasoning)
- Package of pasta
- Garlic Gold
- Breadmaker Bread Mix (so they can make their own garlic bread!)
- Pasta spoon or wooden spoon
- Jar of Olives
- Small jar of Olive Oil
- Chocolates or a little dessert (Ooey Gooey Brownie Mix would be a good one to put with this.)
- Fresh parmesan or aged cheese
- Pesto
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Capers
- Fresh or dried herbs

What else could you put in a Pasta Night gift basket?
You could always take it a step further and add a movie, puzzle, or game to your gift basket. Or you could keep it simple with the basics, like the above items.
The last time we gave this as a gift, we gave it as a wedding gift and included a very nice cutlery set with it as well. Anything that you think the family will enjoy or that goes along with the theme can be added. Get creative and have fun!
I want the focus to be on the items in the basket, so for the basket itself, I try not to spend so much money. I like to look around for them when I’m at thrift stores or rummage sales. Now and again, I pick one or two up with a coupon if I find some for a good deal that is cute and sturdy.
Tip: You can also gift your items in a Reusable Market Tote Bag that they can use again and again.

What a cute idea! I think this might be a keeper. We moved into a new neighborhood this year, and I’ve been looking for something a use as gifts for them all. I was thinking about cookies, but this is so cute, I think I’ll go with something similar. Thanks!
One of my favorite gift baskets is muffin mixes (homemade or store bought) with measuring spoons and cups, a rubber spatula, a muffin pan and local honey and homemade jam. I’ve done this for holidays and especially wedding gifts, with a pretty basket and wrap you can match it to any season 🙂
A bottle of wine and a couple of wine glasses would also be a great addition to some baskets.
I love the idea of a gift the whole family can enjoy – especially the dessert part! 😉 #ThoughtfulSpot
I gave a breakfast basket to my sister-in-law one year for her birthday. It wasn’t the cheapest, but a lasting one. I included a cast iron pan, a spatula, pancake mix, maple syrup and fruit compote.
