I had a problem today and I needed a solution. I’m sick of the rolls of toilet paper sitting on top of the toilet tank for the cat to knock off. So I decided today to come up with a solution to the problem! My bathrooms are pretty tiny and I don’t have alot of floor space so putting in a store boughten tp holder was not an option. So this is what I came up with. My bathroom is white, brown, and blue and I was lucky enough to find a scrap of white fabric leftover from the homemade message board. Here’s my little 10 minute toilet paper holder tutorial! (Thanks in advance for not making fun of my sewing, I’m still getting used to my new machine!)
What you need:
- Scrap fabric
- Sewing Machine (you could it by hand also, might take more than 10 minutes though)
The scrap of fabric I used was 9″x 19″. I wanted it a little bigger to fit the big Scott rolls.
Hem up all 4 edges.
Just like making a cloth napkin, except it’s rectangular!
Cut 4 pieces of ribbon. Two are about 3 inches and two are about 9 inches.
Make loops out of the 2 little pieces of ribbon and sew onto what will be the back part of the holder.
Sew the longer pieces like this onto what will be the front of the holder. Finished! Time to go try it out….
Just loop the longer pieces through the looped ribbon and tie onto the roll holder. I’d like to see my kitties try and knock that out!
