8 Healthy Snacks for Moms with Limited Time

It can sometimes be difficult to feed our family a healthy, balanced diet when life can be so busy. Especially in the summer when we are gardening, canning, and taking care of our babies! We put such an emphasis on ensuring we make healthy snacks for our kids but sometimes we forget ourselves in the meantime and that’s not ok! If Mom doesn’t have energy, it’s hard to take care of her little ones. Today I’ve compiled a list of eight healthy snacks for Moms with limited time. Life isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

Peanut Butter Fruit Dip

Peanut Butter Fruit Dip is a favorite in our house! You can make this dip in less than ten minutes, and with a few ingredients you probably already have on hand. If you can’t do peanut butter or if you don’t have any in the house, this Yogurt Fruit Dip is delicious and also has a good amount of protein.

Roasted Almonds

Almonds are an excellent healthy snack. They’re full of good protein and are great for snacking on in a rush. This recipe makes a big batch in about fifteen minutes, and they turn out delicious!

Frugal Snack Mix

This snack mix recipe was tailored towards what I had in my pantry, but you can customize it to whatever you have on hand! Trail Mix can be expensive, but it doesn’t have to be. The best thing about this recipe is that it takes no time at all to mix this all together and bag it in snack size bags for a quick, grab-and-go snack.

Mason Jar Snacks

These are one of my favorite things to keep in the fridge for easy snacking. Put a little ranch dressing in the bottom of a small mason jar, and then add cuts of celery, and carrot sticks, and replace the lid. These can be kept in the fridge for up to a week, and are a great healthy snack for moms with limited time.

Easy Strawberry Smoothies

Smoothies are an excellent way to make a quick, healthy snack. They’re easy for me to throw together because it seems we always have the ingredients on hand. My favorite thing about smoothies is that you can throw just about anything in them which makes them easy to get in an extra serving of fruit or veggies. I also add Collagen Peptides into my smoothies for a huge boost of protein and amino acids. I have a Ninja Blender with the individual serving size cups which are perfect for my smoothies.

Fruit Salad

The awesome thing about fruit salad, is that you can just quickly chop up a bunch of fruit, throw it in a bowl and call it a salad. You don’t have to add an extra dressing, the fruit juices will do that for you. If you do decide you want a bit of sweetness, drizzle a bit of honey over the top of your fruit salad. Great fruits to include in the salad are grapes, apples, watermelon, bananas, and strawberries. All of those fruits take very little time to prepare or cut up, and are very affordable in the warm months.

Make this snack even easier by keeping washed, diced fruits on hand in your fridge. I love these Produce Keepers from Progressive and have several that I keep filled in my fridge with washed, cut fruits and veggies all week.

Fresh Grapes

Frozen Grapes

Frozen Grapes are an excellent and quick treat to have on hand. They take no time at all to prepare (just remember to make them in advance when you have the time!), and are delicious! They are also great because they have no added sugar so even though they are naturally sweet, they are healthy! I like to make a big batch of these all at once, which only takes me a few minutes, and then just bag them up in freezer bags and keep them in the freezer for future snacking. Another delicious snack (although it takes a bit more time to make) is Chocolate Covered Grapes. Seriously, you have to try those sometime!

Ants on a Log

Who says cute food has to take a long time or is just for kids? Ants on a Log is as simple as cutting up a few stalks of celery, slathering on some peanut butter (or Sunbutter if you can’t do nuts or even a little jelly), and then sprinkling some raisins on top to act as the ants. This is a great snack to make when you need something for both you and the kids. You can make this snack even quicker if you keep washed, sliced celery pieces in the fridge.

So whether or not you will be running in and out of the house a lot this summer, or just need a way to keep your tummies filled in an easy way, you can use this list of eight healthy snacks for Moms with limited time! 1. Great options, thanks. I’ve not done us frozen grapes for ages, I’ll pop some in the freezer tonight.

  2. My favorite health snack is a 22 hard boiled eggs in chopped salad and veggies. My home made vinagret dressing is made with half a lemon, squeezed into 1 1/2 tablespoon of extra vIrgin olive
