April 2014 Monthly Meal Plans
I’ve shared our meal plans now and again on the blog but I’ve decided to start posting them again now as we are meal planning again since we’ve finally moved into the house and I have the space to do it! And plus I’m loving using Plan to Eat to help organize my meals and my shopping lists. Let me know your feedback and what you think!
We plan our meals out for a month at a time. Many of the meals I’m planning more than once so I can make a double batch and freeze the second batch for a quick second meal. I don’t plan lunches because we eat leftovers. Also, in our home, Wednesday’s a leftover days for supper so I only plan 6 meals a week. I don’t plan breakfasts either….we mostly stick with oatmeal + fruit most mornings. 🙂

I plug all of these recipes into my planner from Plan to Eat. I love their service! Once I put the recipes into my calendar it generates my grocery shopping list so I know just what I need to order from my coop for the month. Our monthly grocery budget is currently $300 and that’s for 3 of us.
I try to base my meal plans off what I have in my pantry and what fruits and vegetables I think that I will be able to get on sale and through my coop for the month. I’m hoping that this month I will also be able to find some great deals on berries for treats, smoothies, and for freezing for later. The picture above is part of my coop order (Azure Standard) from this month. I was able to get apples, oranges, onions, lettuce, cabbage, dates, and all kinds of other goodies. (Oil lanterns not included 🙂 )
