Buttermilk Chocolate Bread

I got some leftover buttermilk from my mom the other day from when she made up some butter. I didn’t want it to go to waste so I found this recipe that looked so yummy. It came out even better than I imagined! It’s rich and cake-like, you won’t know whether you should eat it for breakfast or for dessert. I say both. 🙂

—Here are some more Recipes That Use Buttermilk.

This recipe is a quick bread, which I love because they are simple and easy to make! Quick breads don’t require any yeast, rise time or kneading. You can just mix them together quickly, as you would brownies or muffins, and then put them in the oven. They are great to have on hand to go along with meals or as an afternoon snack.

Quick breads also freeze great! To freeze your quick bread, allow it to cool completely. Once cooled, you can wrap the loaf in plastic wrap, aluminum foil, or other freezer safe wrap and place it in the freezer for up to three months. You can also slice off pieces and freeze it in individual portions. Then just set it out overnight so it will thaw. You can heat it up in the microwave for a few seconds too if you like it warm,

  2. I have kept all your posts and have enjoyed them as well. This bread is awesome. I may have mentioned this before but banana bread with chocolate chips is also yummy. My kids went bananas over this.

Made this today and I was very pleased with the outcome! Easy to do, tastes great and it used up my buttermilk. What I’m even more impressed with was I didn’t adjust recipe for high altitude and it turned out perfectly for my 6000+ ft location.

  8. I will be praying for you and your family. I was pregnant one Christmas season and we had hung a tiny stocking on the mantel. I miscarried on Christmas Eve. We came home and had to take down the tiny stocking. The grief is real but I now have two wonderful children! Sending love!
