I’ve been doing pretty good for the first couple days of our Cleaning Up and Out Challenge, how about you? So far I’ve not quite gotten half way around my baby room but I sure am cleaning out alot!
Whenever I clean a full room I start in one corner and work my way slowly around the room. I started in the corner with the closet so it’s been a little more slow going for me but then the “big” part will be out of the way first and I’m not saving it for last!
Above is my “giveaway” pile so far! I have 2 large garbage sacks full of clothes that we don’t really need and a box of clothes that was not baby’s but was sitting in the baby room for giveaway. I also had some formula that I received in the mail that I was hanging onto and can’t use anyways!
Here is a picture of the half of the closet that I’ve gone through so far. (Now it took alot of courage for me to post a picture of my closets on here so be nice!) All those totes are clothes that I have collected for foster children and I went through them all and pulled out what I really didn’t need to keep or what I had way too much of. I also went through the games on the top shelf and put a few in our “for sale” boxes. You can’t see it in my pic but I also went through a wardrobe that I have to the left of this closet and cleaned out any other clothes or toys we didn’t really need.
Simpler Living suggests you keep clothing that your child will wear in the future (of course!) but as I went through the clothing I had I didn’t feel like it was necessary to keep clothing that’s not in very good shape or you may not use. It’s taking up real estate in your home and you should be selective about what sticks around.
We will be having a final update on this room on Saturday so we can all share our totals and how we did. Feel free to email pictures of how awesome you are doing to [email protected] so we can all share in our victory on Saturday!
How has the week been going for you so far? Are you making progress that you can see?
