Well I think you pretty much get the drift of this post from the title. We are going to go ahead and take the challenge that the Dakota Local Food Network is doing this month. That means the majority of what we eat for 5 days straight in August, must be local.
We are going to do the challenge the week of August 8th through August 12th. And of course I felt like I should put my own unique spin on it, since buying local isn’t going to be hard enough already….I’ve decided that it should be eating local…on a budget! I will give myself $50 to spend that week for meals to feed me and my hubby. (That has to include the weeks worth of food and something to preserve as stated in the rules.) And I won’t be able to use much pantry food because most of what I have comes from my co-op in Oregon so we will have to get creative!
Anyone want to tag along with me in this challenge? It’s going to be a tough one but I think we can do it! Of course I will be posting my shopping lists, what I buy, and what we make and eat during this week.
