Here is a post about all the food we purchased in the last month! Our budget for groceries each month is $225 and that’s for 3 of us. I stocked up on butter this month and snacks for the little. I also purchased some things I don’t normally buy (like frozen sweet potatoes instead of fresh) to save a little time since we have several doctors appointments scheduled each month. I use my winter meal planning idea outlined in my ebook, Meal Planning Made Simple. We do the bulk of our shopping once a month through Azure Standard but I do stop in the grocery store maybe once every other week (which is what I did this month for bananas and milk). Here’s what I bought.
Tropical Traditions: $19
I ordered some butter from Tropical Traditions. I had $100 in referral credits so I only ended up paying $19 for 9lbs of sticks and 6 containers of whipped butter.
Azure Standard: $154.54
We had a big order this month, not really in price but in stuff! I ordered several things that I think of as “convenience foods” (like frozen veggies, cereal, ect) but sometimes it’s much easier for me to fix a quick lunch rather than actually bake the foods and it’s been the same price as fresh lately!) Frozen Peas (x3), Frozen Sweet Potatoes (x3), Rice Puffs (x3), Millet Puffs (x3), Organic Rice Crispies, Avocados (x3), Coconut Milk, Apricot Nectar, 5lb Pinto Beans, Zipper Storage Bags (x2), 6lb Cream Cheese, Applegate Hot Dogs (x2), Organic Orange Juice (x2), Organic Apple Juice, Sea Salt, Pineapple Chunks, Cabbage, 6lb Apples, Vegenaise, Country Save Laundry Detergent, Tuna (x3), Smoked Salmon.
Total for the Month: $193.94
We did pretty good this month! Milk is costing us a little more since we have to buy it from the store but I’ve actually enjoyed buying it in the half gallon size, much easier for us to use so we’ve been better at using it up. As you can see above, we try to shop once a month and buy in bulk. I do not normally buy meat throughout the month because we buy chicken and beef in bulk once a year. I know our shopping habits are not typical so feel free to ask questions in the comments section!
