Easy Salad Dressing Recipes

I really love to make homemade salad dressing recipes for some reason. Russian Dressing, Dorthy Lynch Dressing, Ranch Dressing, Catalina Dressing. Even just a simple French Dressing is fun to make!

I think the reason I love to make all of these easy salad dressing recipes is because lettuce is healthy and so cheap (free in the summer if you have a garden!) so making different toppings for them keeps the salads exciting and tasty.

Pouring Salad Dressing

Right now my hubby is really into salads and he prefers the creamy based dressings whereas I like the tangier, tomato or vinegar based dressings. Today I’m going to share 3 very simple dressing recipes that use 4 ingredients and can be made in about 2 minutes. If you are looking for some new easy salad dressing recipes to top your next garden salad, give these a try!

Easy Dressing Recipe

Easy Oil and Vinegar Dressing

This quick dressing has always been one of my favorites. It takes about 1 minute to put it together and you have a great easy dressing recipe!

  • 1 cup Oil (any vegetable oil will do)
  • 1/4 cup Vinegar (white or apple cider)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt

Place together in a jar or container and shake before pouring.

Yogurt Salad Dressing Recipe

Yogurt Salad Dressing Recipe

For those of you that prefer a creamy dressing, this one is perfect! If the pure yogurt is too tangy for you, you can mix half yogurt and half sour cream.

  • 1 cup plain Yogurt
  • 1/4 cup Lemon Juice (you can use more for a thinner dressing)
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Mix all the ingredients together in a small bowl or simply pour everything together into a jar and shake. Shake before pouring on your salad.

If you skip the salt and pepper and add a little honey instead, this dressing is great for a fruit salad as well!

Easy Salad Dressing

Garlic Lemon Dressing

This is a great, refreshing dressing to make. Perfect for a little pick-me-up snack salad.

  • 1/3 cup Oil (any vegetable oil will do)
  • 3 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Place all ingredients in a jar or container and shake to combine. Shake before pouring on your salad.

Easy Salad Dressing Recipes

Dressings are so incredibly easy to put together and they can make customizing a salad so simple. You don’t need much to put together a dressing so you can always try new combinations. Just use an oil, an acid, and some of your favorite seasonings and spices to put together a dressing combo that your taste buds will love.

  1. Hi Merissa! This is my first time on your site and I just love it! About your salad dressings, I remember a dressing from my childhood, and that’s waaaaay before you were hatched! lol Anyway, I’ll have to think on it, but maybe some of your readers may remember it as well. It was an oil and vinegar recipe but ketchup was used as an ingredient. It had lots of garlic too. In fact, I think I’ll go make some for my salad tonight, although it’s much better the next day when the flavors have had a chance to meld.

  2. I love making dressings for fresh salad and I have never though to use paprika! So I’m going to try adding that – maybe even smoked paprika – to my next fajita salad. I love the sweet tang of balsamic vinegar too, one of my favourite dressings is to mix 1 tbs balsamic vinegar with 2 tbs olive oil. ?

  3. Love the lemon garlic dressing
    I use fresh lemon juice
And crush 4-6 cloves fresh garlic instead of garlic powder
Oh congrats! On your new bk I need to
    Order n future:)

  8. Hi Marisa, Love your recipes. If you have a ripe avocado available, chop it and mix in with the olive oil and vinegar plus a spoon of lemon juice makes a wonderful avocado dressing for a quick salad with lettuce, bacon and green onions. Just an idea, I make this one often. Will try the one with the yogurt, sounds yumie! Thanks, BR
