I’ve tried all kinds of ways for posting our meal plans and even though I like to try and get them all planned out ahead of time we usually end up changing some part of them up or having something different entirely. I want to be able to post our meal plans to show how we still eat healthy even on a budget!
So here’s what I’m going to try, each Monday I’ll post my meal plans that we actually had the week before. That way it’s an actual account of what we had! We started trying to go gluten-free this week and we will continue with that for a few weeks. (trying to heal some digestive systems and hubby is trying to lose weight while I’m trying to see if yeast/gluten is holding me back from gaining weight) The only thing I cheated on our diet with this week was those Zucchini Brownies….it was worth it!
Lunch: And then we snacked all afternoon (Snacks are fruit)
Supper: Chicken Breast (We shared a Zaycon chicken breast, I cooked several in the crockpot on Sunday), Cucumbers (Free!), Hashbrowns (I couldn’t resist my fresh new potatoes from my co-op!)
Dessert: Zucchini Brownies!
Breakfast: Strawberry Orange Smoothies
Lunch: Leftovers from the night before.
Supper: Burgers (On lettuce instead of buns), Cucumbers (Yes again, when it’s garden season you tend to eat alot of the same thing!).
Breakfast: For some reason I can’t remember….!
Supper: Chicken Breast, Cucumbers
Breakfast: Cottage Cheese, Fruit
Supper: Chicken and Yellow Squash Rice Casserole (I fried onions in butter, then added in chicken broth cubes and garlic powder, Added that mixture to cooked rice and chicken and squash and cream cheese, then baked for about 20 minutes)
Dessert: Orange Raw Milk Smoothie
Breakfast: Leftover Orange Raw Milk Smoothies ( These are so easy to make! I just add a bunch of my frozen orange juice cubes to raw milk, a little bit of sweetener and blend!)
Lunch: Cheese, Fruit, Leftovers
Supper: Taco Casserole (Made this with refried beans I made from dried beans in my crockpot, if you want the recipe let me know, I’ll post it!)
Sunday is pretty much always a leftovers day for us. 🙂
I think we did pretty good this week considering I’ve never been on a diet before so I don’t really know how these things go. As you can probably tell from the above…we are smoothie people so getting in extra fruits and veggies is easy for us. Another indicater that we did well…hubby lost 8 pounds this week and I gained 3, sounds like it’s working!
