Gluten Free Pancakes

Before we went gluten free we used to have pancakes all the time. Not so much for breakfast…but breakfast for supper! Now we can enjoy them again with my Gluten Free Pancakes recipe. Paired with some homemade or gluten free sausage and hashbrowns this makes a full meal!

Simple Gluten Free Pancake Recipe

What you Need

How to Make

  1. Mix together the flour and the buttermilk powder.
  2. Add in the sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the water, egg, and oil.
  4. Add the wet mixture into the dry and whisk together, don’t over mix.
  5. Use a measuring cup to drop the pancake batter onto a hot griddle, flip pancakes over when they start to bubble.
  6. Enjoy!

This Gluten Free Pancake Recipe is easy and delicious!

Course Breakfast

Ingredients

  • 1 c.  Gluten Free All Purpose Flour
  • ¼ c.  buttermilk powder
  • 1 T. sugar
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • ½ t. baking soda
  • ½ t. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 T. oil I used mild olive oil

Instructions

  1. Mix together the flour and the buttermilk powder.
  2. Add in the sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the water, egg, and oil.
  4. Add the wet mixture into the dry and whisk together, don’t over mix.
  5. Use a measuring cup to drop the pancake batter onto a hot griddle, flip pancakes over when they start to bubble.

These pancakes have good flavor. Top them with butter and maple syrup or our personal fave… cream cheese and strawberries!

Freezing Gluten Free Pancakes

 

To save time, you can make a double batch of these pancakes and freeze some for another day!

To freeze, allow the pancakes to cool and place them in a freezer bag or container. If you’re worried about them sticking together, you can flash freeze them in a single layer before adding to the freezer container or use a piece of parchment paper between them.

  1. We have been gluten free for three years and this is probably the easiest and best buttermilk pancake recipe we have tried. I used King Arthur’s Flour mix and they were so light and fluffy, which is hard to do gluten free. We will be making these often. Thanks!
