Easy Jalapeno Popper Dip

We kind of love dip and spread recipes here on Little House Living if you haven’t noticed already. I like to post all kinds of yummy recipes!

This Jalapeño Popper Dip is a great little appetizer or snack if you are looking for something warm or something special for a family gathering or to enjoy during the big game.

You can serve this dip recipe with crackers, chips, or your favorite dipping foods. It has a slightly crunchy topping and is a wonderfully flavorful cheesy dip! You should already have most of these ingredients in your pantry/fridge already.

Jalapeno Popper Dip Recipe

Today I’m sharing another deliciously simple dip recipe that would be perfect for your next family game night, game day, or any other get-together. This dip is best when served warm and even better when served straight from the oven. You can dice your own fresh jalapenos to use in this dip or you can use canned.

What to Serve with Jalapeno Popper Dip

This recipe is best when served with your favorite chips or crackers. Something like Ritz Crackers is a really nice buttery addition but you could also use Wheat Thin Style Crackers or even Brown Rice Crackers if you prefer to make them.

You could also serve this dip with tortilla chips if that’s what you have on hand or pretzels or even baguette slices.

If you wanted to stay away from grains or try something healthy, you could also use carrots, bell peppers slices, or celery sticks for your dip too!

Jalapeno Popper Dip Ingredients

Ingredients in the Jalapeno Popper Dip Recipe

  • Cream Cheese. Essential for making this dip so creamy! You could try homemade Yogurt Cheese if you don’t have any cream cheese.
  • Mayonnaise. You can use store-bought or homemade.
  • Green Chilis. Green Chili will give this dip some extra flavor without giving it too much heat like if we just used straight-up jalapenos.
  • Jalapenos. These can be fresh or canned. You could even try a little Jalapeno Relish in this recipe if that’s what you have!
  • Parmesan Cheese. Parmesan helps to give this dish its extra flavor boost! Freshly grated parmesan is best but dried will work. It will, however, give the dip a grainy texture.

Shredded Pepper Jack

Additions to Jalapeno Popper Dip Recipe

You can add in a few different things to give this dip a totally different flavor. The fun part is figuring out new flavor combos that work well for your family! Here are some ideas:

  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese instead of Parmesan. Use sharp cheddar cheese for even more flavor.
  • Bread Crumbs or panko bread crumbs on top for an extra crunchy topping.
  • Green Onion on top or mixed in for added flavor.
  • Add some melted butter into the blend for a richer dip.
  • Use Mozzarella Cheese or Monterey Jack instead of Parmesan.
  • Add in Bacon for a Bacon Jalapeno Popper flavor!
  • Try sour cream or greek yogurt in place of the mayonnaise.
  • Add a bit of garlic powder and salt to give it a little flavor boost.

**Note, full fat or low fat dairy products will work interchangeably in this recipe. Full fat gives it more flavor of course!

Adding Jalapenos to Dip

Instructions for Making Jalapeno Popper Dip

In a medium-sized or large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayo, green chiles, jalapenos, and half of the parmesan cheese. (This is where you would add in the green onions, cooked bacon, or other additions if you choose.)

Combined Jalapeno Popper Dip

Mix the cream cheese mixture until everything is combined well. If you feel like it’s too chunky, use an electric mixer to blend it. Reserve half of the parmesan cheese for the top.

Jalapeno Popper Dip to Bake

Place the dip into an oven-safe bowl, baking dish, or very small casserole dish.

Parmesan Cheese on Jalapeno Popper Dip

Sprinkle the remaining parmesan cheese over the top of the baking dishes or bowls used. (You can also add the panko breadcrumbs over the top here if you wanted to.) Preheat oven before placing in the dip. Bake the dip at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly. Use the broiler setting for a minute or two at the end to get a nice crispy topping on your dip.
