We are doing our best to eat as much local food as we can this week for our main meals. Got off to a little bit of a bumpy start yesterday because I wasn’t feeling my best so instead of some awesome knock-your-socks-off kind of meal, we stuck with the basics.
Hamburger (Made with fresh grass raised local beef.)
Oven Baked Potatoes (Fresh dug up from the garden.)
Total for supper for 2: $1.25
Buying Local Food Frugal Tip:
Buying local, all natural beef may be cheaper than you think. We get a great deal because we buy it (and sometimes trade for it) from my parents. But I’ve also checked prices at local butcher shops and it’s not that expensive. I’ve even seen it advertised in the paper for as low as $2.50lb, you can hardly get it that cheap in the grocery store! So check your local butcher shop to see what they offer for prices on ground beef. Try to be able to buy in bulk also, it’s going to be much cheaper if you can buy a half a cow or even a whole cow at a time.
Did you make the rolls. They look delicious.
Yes I did! I haven’t posted that particular recipe yet but I can sure get it up this week! I do have several other buns recipes on the site already too if you want to check them out!

I have a home daycare so these burgers will be on our menu next week. Thanks for sharing them.
