As I mentioned last week, one of our goals for this year is to work towards getting out of debt so we can be debt free by the time we are 30. We’ve only got 5 years to do it but I’m looking forward to the challenge! Many months ago we read Dave Ramsey’s books on getting out of debt and decided we would go with that plan (except we will also be paying off our house at the same time as we pay off our other bills).
One of Dave Ramsey’s suggestions is to use the envelope system and use cash money instead of plastic money. We started using the envelope budgeting system a while ago ( I even used it when I was growing up!) but we really want to get serious about it now. One thing that I dislike is pulling those not so lovely envelopes out of my purse and digging around in there to find which one I need, plus struggling to keep a squirmy baby in the cart while I just try and finish shopping.
I was SO excited to come across Sarah Clark’s shop, Miss Money Bags on Etsy and found these super cute and so practical Cash Wallets that she makes! Each wallet either has 4 or 6 “envelope” sections that you can easily label and store your cash in for that category.
The front of the wallet has a section for cards and a pocket, then you will find the cash envelopes, then in the back there is a zippered pocket to store any change or anything else that might fall out. The wallet is about the same size as an average wallet so it fits in a purse or diaper bag well.
The wallets are made from a heavy duty fabric so you don’t have to worry about them falling apart, even with heavy use, plus they come with a fun handmade wooden button to keep it all together in the front which just makes them cute! Sarah can customize the wallets if you need more envelopes also.
I really love my wallet from the Miss Money Bags store and I’m actually even more excited about using a cash system now because I have such a cute wallet to take to the store!
Sarah Clark, Miss Money Bags, would like to give one Little House Living reader the chance to have a Cash Envelope Wallet of their own! To enter to win simply fill out the Rafflecopter form below. Good luck!
