I’m finally home from Save Up 2010! In case you didn’t know, Save Up 2010 was a conference for deal bloggers hosted by the awesome Savings.com! There was 30 bloggers invited and we got to spend 2 days together in Chicago.
My kitties did not want me to leave. It’s crazy how they understand the difference from me leaving for the day and leaving for a couple days. Kitty just got mad at me and wouldn’t come out from under the bed and here is a picture of Molly. She wouldn’t get out of our suitcase.
After about a 12 hour road trip we made it to Save Up! I was shell shocked by how big the city was and how many people and cars were around! I’ve been to big cities before by Chicago was the biggest so I didn’t know what to expect. Thankfully I didn’t have to leave the hotel.
Our first workshop speaker was the Coupon Mom! It was awesome to meet her and listen to her speak. Her story so very encouraging for me. It reminded me that no matter what your blog stats and numbers look like, each of the views is an individual person and you really have no idea what kind of impact you are making on that person. I absolutely love that thought and it was a reminder on why I started the blog and why I try hard to keep it going, because I want to help people like me make the most out of what little we have and try and be happy with what we have.
After the Stephanie spoke we had workshops about media appearances, pr, SEO, and so much more stuff! I have pages of notes to go through and websites to visit now that I’m back!
Me and my new friend Jennie from Bargain Blessings! Sorry I look so yuck and tired! I ended up being sick the whole conference but I was determine to tough it out!
Our whole Save Up 2010 group of Deal Pros and the Savings.com team. I’m 4th from the left side. What an awesome group we made!
Me and my new friend Deidre from Cuckoo For Coupon Deals!
Ok so on the way back from Save Up we got to go to Wisconsin and visit some of my family there. On our way down a back road I found this guy selling potatoes, onions, and apples by the side of the road. The potatoes were only 6.95 for a 50lb bag! The onions were 13.95 for 50lbs and the apples were 10.95 for 22 lbs(and were the most beautiful and yummy apples I’ve ever seen!) So we called my mom and my mother in law and stocked up on these goodies for all of us! Now I have this week to work on drying, canning apples, and freezing the veggies!
So anyways, I had a great time despite the fact that I was sick! I learned so much at the conference and met so many new people! I want to give a HUGE thank you shout out to Savings.com and all the sponsers for Save Up 2010! I would not have been able to attend if it wasn’t for all of you.
