What You Need:

How to make Dried Fruit Tea:

Start by dehydrating your fruit. I don’t have the exact measurements on the number of apple pieces and strawberries that I started with, but I ended up with approximately 1 quart of dried small apple pieces and probably about the same of the dried strawberry pieces. I dehydrated both of these in my food dehydrator.

Fruit Tea

After they were finished dehydrating, I added the dried apple and strawberry pieces to 1/2 pound rose hips and also 1/2 pound hibiscus flowers. (You can get both at Starwest Botanicals.)

Simply mix all the ingredients and store them in an airtight container until you are ready to make some tea. I store my loose teas in gallon-sized glass jars so I can easily see which teas are stored inside and how much I have left before I need to make more and order more rose hips and hibiscus flowers.

Doesn’t it look beautiful? Not only is it tasty and your family will love it, but it would also make an excellent gift. Place it in a pretty little mason jar or another decorative jar and share it as a gift with friends.

Dried Fruit Loose Tea

To make tea, I use approximately 1/4 cup of the mixture to 1/2 gallon of water. Steep it for several minutes (using a large Tea Infuser) and pour over ice and enjoy a nice tall glass with your family.

  1. What a great idea! My kids would even drink this. Thanks for linking up on our Whip It Up Wednesday!

  2. This sounds so good. I need to get some strawberries since they are in season right now. I can give this to the children without worry if caffiene and extra sugar.

  3. I enjoy your site. This tea sounds great Which dehydrater did you use ??
The Peanut Cookies are quick, easy and yummy !!

  4. This is my first Teavana tea – I love sweet berry flavors, so this was one I really wanted to try. I like my tea VERY sweet, so I put over a tablespoon of the rock sugar in the steeper, and it turned out DELICIOUS. Smooth going down, light on the palate definitely a good wind-down tea for the night.

    1. Wow! I just love tea…fruit and herbal teas! This is a new idea for me.I want to know more esp if its about saving money and healthy food/beverages.

  5. This sounds great but apples and strawberries aren’t ripe at the same time. Unless you grow some Alpine strawberries very small, easy to dry, very sweet and strawberry flavor is strong. They fruit all season. Hard to find. Don’t put out runners. Cute little plants. Try to find them worth the extra effort

  6. 4 stars
Do you have a link for the glass container you recommend? I’m always afraid I’ll buy one that doesn’t have a good seal. Tried my hand at homemade ACV, didn’t go well😔
