Ingredients

  • 2 Large onions chopped
  • 1 cup Half and Half
  • 1 cup All purpose flour
  • ¼ cup Cornmeal
  • 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix together the onions, half and half, flour, cornmeal, cornstarch, sugar and salt and pepper to taste in a mixing bowl until well combined. Allow the mixture to sit for 5 minutes to allow it to thicken a bit.

  2. Heat a layer of oil in the bottom of a skillet over medium high heat.
  3. Drop the batter by the tablespoon into the heated skillet, and fry evenly on both sides until golden brown.

  4. Drain on a paper towel lined plate before serving.
