Strawberry Orange Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients

  • Oranges
  • Strawberries frozen
  • Yogurt or Milk
  • Honey or Sugar

Instructions

  1. We never drink juice. All fruit has natural sugar and just like any sugary item you have to be careful not to go overboard. When you drink juice it's easy to get more sugar than you need because think about how many oranges are in that glass of juice you are drinking! So when we need juice for something we buy organic produce and juice it! That way we control how many fruits we take in each day.
  2. The second reason that we don't buy store bought orange juice can be found here. Gross.
  3. Anyways, back to smoothie....juice those oranges! Like I said above I use about 4 oranges for 2 smoothies, depending on how juicy they are. I don't have a fancy juicer just this little electric one I picked up for $2 at a thrift store. :)
  4. Add frozen strawberries. I add about 1 cup for 2 smoothies.
  5. Add in yogurt or milk. My very favorite smoothies are the ones we add raw milk to but we also like adding greek yogurt or this European style yogurt.
  6. Then we add in a little honey or turbinado sugar. I add a little more if we are using greek yogurt and a little less when we are using European yogurt or raw milk. How much you add depends on your tastes.
  7. Let your blender do it's job!
  8. And enjoy! I like to make extras and stick the whole cup in the freezer. Then when I want a smoothie I just grab one out of the freezer, let it thaw a bit, and eat!
