Homemade Milano Cookies


  • 1 stick butter 1/2 cup
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 Tablespoon butter


  1. Mix together the butter, brown sugar, vanilla, and flour. It's hard to mix it correctly with a spoon so have fun and use your hands!
  2. Roll into 1 inch balls and flatten. Place on a cookie sheet. Bake at 325F for 15 minutes. These won't be as thin as store boughten Milanos but if you make them too thin they won't be able to hold the chocolate.
  3. After the cookies have had a chance to cool. Melt the 1T of butter and the chocolate chips.
  4. Dip the cookies into the chocolate and let them dry on waxed paper. I didn't have any waxed paper so I just used my drying rack.
