The Best Chocolate Muffin Mix

This is the best Chocolate Muffin Mix recipe! It makes wonderfully rich chocolate muffins that taste moist and delicious and are easy to make and easy to store to make later.


To Make the Mix – 2 cups All Purpose Flour or All Purpose Gluten Free Flour – 1 cup unsweetened Cocoa Powder – 2 1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder – 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda – 1/2 teaspoon Salt – 1 1/2 cups Chocolate Chips – 1 1/4 cups Sugar To Make the Muffins – 1 egg – 1/4 cup Vegetable Oil – 3/4 cup Sour Cream – 1 1/2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract

Step 1

Combine all of the above dry ingredients in a large bowl.

To Make the Mix

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 2 equal portions and pour into some kind of air-tight storage container. I prefer to use Mason Jars closed with a Plastic Storage Lid.

Step 3

To Make the Muffins

Combine all of these ingredients with the contents of one jar of the mix. Stir well until all ingredients are combined and no dry ingredients remain.

Step 4

Scoop into a greased or lined (I use the If You Care Baking Cups that are unbleached) Muffin Tin with a muffin scoop. Each jar should make 12 regular sized muffins.

Step 5

 Bake the muffins at 375 for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of one of the muffins comes out clean. Enjoy warm.
