Chocolate Muffin Mix Recipe
There is just something about a chocolate muffin that makes it so much more tempting to me than all of the rest. I have a feeling that thing is….. chocolate. When I imagine the perfect Chocolate Muffin, it is full of rich chocolate flavor in a moist muffin. I’ve spent many years trying to figure out how to make the perfect Chocolate Muffin Mix because all of the muffins usually turn out dry, or just don’t have that strong flavor that I’m hoping for.
I think that you will love this simple Chocolate Muffin Recipe that I’ve finally settled on. It’s easy to make and store in your pantry until the day comes that you want to enjoy a yummy muffin. Plus, thanks to the addition of sour cream in this recipe, these muffins stay moist for days. They also freeze well so you can have them on hand for a quick snack or breakfast anytime.

These look delicious! Thank you for sharing your recipe! I love that they don’t have a ton of sugar either. Will be making some today as I have some chocolate chips to use up!
I hope you enjoy the recipe, Letty!
I’m a bit confused the recipe says
1/4 cup Vegetable Oil (melted coconut oil or a milk olive oil work great)
Is that milk? Or milk olive oil which I’ve never heard of
It is supposed to say “mild” olive oil. I will fix the error.
These sound delicious! I like to use applesauce in place of oil when I use store-bought muffin mixes. Would that work here?
I haven’t tried it in this particular recipe but it should work here.
This mix would be handy to have on hand to whip up on busy mornings or for an afternoon snack.
Thanks for sharing on #TastyTuesdays.

What else could we use if we dont have sour cream on hand
You could replace the sour cream with yogurt if you have that.
I was just going to mention subbing plain Greek yogurt for the sour cream when I found your reply. I use it for so many things these days. Thanks for the recipe. I’ll try it as soon as I buy chocolate chips. 😉
There must be some wet ingredient missing here?
These look so yummy! I am going to make them this afternoon. I will make them with goat yogurt so they are milk-free for my family member who can’t have cow’s milk. Thank you for the recipe!
No problem! I’ve made this recipe with coconut milk and they’ve turned out great 🙂
Can you use melted butter instead of oil? If so would it change the consistency?
Butter would work just fine in this recipe 🙂
I made these & while mixing it was too dry to combine so i added another 1/4 cup of sour cream & then it was better. Turned out really good and moist.
While make several batches to put in mason jars as gifts. Handy to have ready to make recipes.
