Basic Recipe for Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup whey or buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients and the wet ingredients together separately. Then still together but don't over mix. Pour together in a greased 8"x8" pan. Bake at 425F for 20-25 minutes or until it looks done.
