Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup + 1/4 c. butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup + 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt together 1/3 cup of butter and 1/3 cup of brown sugar.

  2. Let the mixture boil together for a minute after it has melted.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour and remaining butter and brown sugar. It helps if you melt the butter.

  4. Press the flour mixture into the bottom of a shallow baking pan with sides. You don't need to grease the pan.

  5. Pour the toffee mixture on top. Bake at 325F for 15 minutes.

  6. Remove and add a handful of chocolate chips to the top. I add about 1/2 cup. You can add more or less depending on your tastes.

  7. Give the chocolate a minute or two to melt and then spread over the bars. Cool and enjoy!
