Slice and Bake Sugar Cookie Recipe

This Slice and Bake Sugar Cookie recipe makes 4 batches of cookie dough to keep in the freezer to easily slice up and make cookies anytime you want them.

  • 2 c. butter softened
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 t. vanilla
  • 6 c. flour
  • 1 t. baking soda


  1. Beat together the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until fluffy.
  2. Add in the flour and baking soda until well incorporated.
  3. Divide the dough into 4 pieces and roll those into logs.

To freeze the cookie dough:

  1. Wrap each log in plastic wrap or freezer wrap and then place them inside of a freezer container or a freezer bag.

To bake your cookies:

  1. Simply thaw your cookie dough slightly and slice it. Place your sliced cookies on a greased cookie sheet.
  2. Bake the cookies at 350F for about 8-10 minutes or until slightly browned.
