  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • ¼ cup almond flour or another flour
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • cup minced onion
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl mix ground beef, almond flour, nutmeg, onion, garlic, pepper, and salt using your hand.
  2. Once all spices are incorporated into the ground beef, roll into 1-inch meatballs.
  3. Heat avocado oil in a deep fry pan, then fry meatballs in batches until cooked through.
  4. Remove all meatballs from the pan once cooked, add butter, and let it melt.
  5. Add flour to butter and whisk until smooth; cook it for 2-3 minutes until golden in color.
  6. In a large measuring cup, add 2 bouillon cubes and 2 cups of boiling water.
  7. Once the bouillon is dissolved, add it to the frying pan with the flour mixture, whisking as you pour.
  8. Let it cook for 3-5 minutes until it starts boiling and all flour lumps have been whisked smooth.
  9. Add heavy cream and salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Add meatballs back to the pan and serve over rice or mashed potatoes.
