As many of you know we recently starting cloth diapering. I'd have loved to start a little sooner but our current little guy is so skinny we had trouble fitting in diapers until now.
When I started cloth diapering I wasn't really sure how the whole cleaning the diapers part actually worked. I figured I couldn't just use a garbage bag (I could but it would get smelly and not very sanitary) so I started looking into wet bags.
Wet bags are cloth bags, usually made with a PUL(the same fabric that covers the diapers). They are waterproof and antibacterial. You can get them in many sizes ranging from a small one that just holds one or two diapers to have in your diaper bag, to a big pail liner that you can stick right in your diaper genie.

I recently got to try out a Wahmies Brand Diaper Pail Wet Bag Liner from Greenie Beanie Bottoms. I have a diaper pail I picked up for $2 at a rummage sale and I normally just line it with garbage bags for the disposable diapers.
The Wahmies Pail Liner was easy to slip in my diaper pail. No drawstrings, just a nice elastic band around the top to keep it up. Plus the bag was huge, it would easily fit several days worth of diapers!
Then to wash all you have to do is take the pail liner out of the pail and put its contents into the washer. I put the whole bag in the washer to and get it cleaned up before I put it back in my diaper pail. I love that it's easy and reusable, no more buying expensive plastic garbage bags!
You can also use wet bags to carry wet clothing (like swimsuits) or anything you would carry in a waterproof reusable bag. The Wahmies Pail Liners are PVC, Pthalate, and Lead Free so you don't have to worry about any scary chemicals leaching into your diapers or clothing.
