Need a sweet treat but can’t decide between cheesecake or brownies? These Cheesecake Brownie Cupcakes are the best of both worlds!
Chocolate Cheesecake Brownie Cupcakes
I think you should be drooling just from the title of this one, I mean really:
Chocolate (nothing better)
Cheesecake (wait, this might be better than chocolate…)
Brownie (drooooooool)
Cupcakes (perfection!)
Did I mention these are even made with wheat flour? Does that mean we can pretend they are healthy? Healthy or not, they definitely should be on your menu plans this week.
If you don’t have wheat flour, this recipe will also work with regular white flour and will work with gluten free flour as well. I have not tried this recipe with homemade Almond Flour but since it uses wheat flour (which can be similar to almond flour) I think it will work. Please comment if you try it this way!
Chocolate Cheesecake Brownie Cupcakes Recipe
What you need:
- 2 eggs
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. oil (any)
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 t. baking powder
- 1/2 c. cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 1/2 c. wheat or white wheat flour
- 1 c. chocolate chips
Soften the cream cheese and add in the eggs, sugar, and oil.
Mix in the rest of the ingredients.
And add in the chocolate chips last.
Drop into a muffin or cupcake tin. Make sure to grease if you don’t use cupcake liners. Bake at 350F for about 15 minutes. Try not to over-bake or they will be too dry.
You can frost them or leave them plain. I made a simple whipped ganache frosting for these. (Heat heavy cream, remove from heat, add chocolate chips and a little vanilla, cool overnight then whip.)
Try not to eat them all right after you make them. I dare you. These cupcakes are best enjoyed right after you frost them but you can also freeze them (without the frosting) to save some for later. Just place them in a freezer bag or container and store until you need a sweet treat.

Those look so good!
Could you sub coconut or almond flour in for same amount? Also could you swap sugar for honey or maple syrup??
Yes on the flours, but I don’t think a liquid sweetener would work. You could try succanat or evaporated cane juice or even palm or coconut sugar instead.
Hi! I am looking forward to trying these for my husband’s birthday. Question: what are the quantities for the heavy cream and chocolate chips for the ganache? Thanks!
1 cup of chocolate chips + 1 cup of heavy cream
