Cheesy Chicken Breasts
This easy recipe is one of our very favorites. It requires almost no prep time, 🙂 I don’t have a “recipe recipe” for this, it’s more of a throw together thing!
Cheesy Chicken Breasts
What you need:
- Chicken Breasts (1 per person)
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- Mayo
- Chicken Broth or Water
Place your thawed chicken breasts in a baking dish. Fill the dish with water or chicken broth to cover half of the chicken breasts.
Mix together the shredded cheese and mayo. I really have no measurement for this. Sometimes I make more or less depending on my mood. 😀
Cover the chicken breasts with the cheese mixture. Bake at 375F for about 45 minutes or until the internal temp of the chicken is 165F.
Sounds great! I like to take that combination of cheese and mayo and slather it on garlic bread before baking. It’s the Pioneer Woman recipe for cheese bread. Fantastic!
Oh I like that too!
Any ideas of what would work in place of the mayo? Greek yogurt or cream cheese maybe?
Either of those would work good I think!
Is Zaycon foods coming to our area at all? I see there is nothing currently scheduled for our area, but is that just for the near future or have they ever come here?
They have been here twice so far and the last I heard they are supposed to be coming again in March but I haven’t heard a specific date yet.
Made this receipe last night, for my family of 10! I used chicken thighs, only because we didn’t have breasts. I also used about 4/5 oz of sour cream mixed with approx. 3oz of olive oil mayo and 4/5oz of cheese. The chicken came out perfect! I was a lil skeptical of the water. Only because I have never baked chicken in water, before! My fiancé (and his kids) hate mayo! They prefer miracle whip. However, they all ate their plates clean with out a single complaint! (nobody saw what the actual ingredients were either)
As side I boiled white corn on the cob in sugar water, and made mashed red skin potatoes with butter, sour cream, ranch, very lil honey Dijon mustard, shredded monetary jack cheeses, and salt n pepper.
THANK YOU!!
I’m glad everyone enjoyed it! I agree…the ingredients are a little weird but they taste amazing when they are all cooked together! 🙂
