do you have a pancake mix recipe? this sounds like a no brainer, but i would like to just be able to add milk and possibly an egg and have breakfast in 10 minutes.

I found one that is great it is a copycat of bisquick, I make this a lot because my boys love pancakes.
      6 c. flour
      2 tbsp. powder sugar
      3 tbsp. baking powder
      1/2 tsp salt
      3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup plus 1 tbsp. oil
put all dry ingredients in kitchen aide, or bowl with stand mixer. Set on low and drizzle in the oil. Don’t need to mix long just until incorporated.
Add 2 cups mix, 2 eggs, 1 c. milk, mix and that’s it. I also use this recipe for waffles. This is a very versatile mix anything you find bisquik used in a recipe you can use making this mix.

The instant oatmeal recipe link and taco seasoning link appear to be, well, linked. I’m looking for the oatmeal recipe for my kiddos. I want to know where it comes from, so thank you for posting. 🙂

I’m looking for mixes to replace dry soup mixes that are often used in pot roast and meatloaf. My daughter has to eat gluten-free, but all mixes for gravy, onion soup, etc. contain gluten, of course, and GF mixes are hard to find and outrageously expensive. I just need a mix that I can modify with cornstarch or GF flour. Anything you can offer would be great, thanks.

        Amanda –
Its hard to find any corn products today that are non-GMO so maybe you should look for something with arrowroot as a thickener.
I know the issue was gluten but I like to help steer people away from things with GMO ingredients whenever I can.

Hey, do you have a recipe for spiced cider/Mullen spices? I make one that is all liquid, but I want one where I can have a dry mix and just add to apple juice or tea by the glass.
    Thanks!

I don’t have a mix version but I do have this recipe for Mulled Apple Cider and you could just put together the dry ingredients.

Hi, My name is Jackie. My family and I have recently moved to West Texas. We have moved from a little two bed room home to a 24 foot long camper. That’s a big difference! lol We are hoping to start building a cabin in the next few months. We would like to be more self sufficient. It just takes a lot of money and hard work to do this but we enjoy every minute! Yet it has been very challenging but rewarding. I have enjoyed reading your blog and would like to know if you have any more homemade mixes. I wish you luck in your journey and hope to hear from you!

    thanks, Jackie

Do you have a recipe for a country gravy mix. Sometimes I’m in a hurry and I use the just add water mix. It’s okay, but would like to make my own.

      RE: Country gravy mix

      I found one 🙂
      Rosie

      COUNTRY GRAVY MIX
      1 cup all-purpose flour
      2 teaspoons garlic salt
      1 teaspoon paprika
      1 teaspoon ground black pepper
      1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
      1/2 teaspoon salt

Mix all ingredients well and store in a tightly sealed container. TO MAKE GRAVY: Discard all but 2 tablespoons of the oil used to fry the chicken (or melt 2 tablespoons unsalted butter) in the skillet. Over low heat, mix in 2 tablespoons of the Country Gravy Mix. Stirring constantly, cook about 2 minutes. Whisk in 1 cup chicken broth, scraping browned bits off bottom of skillet. Stir in 1 cup milk and bring all to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 5 minutes. Serve immediately with chicken, mashed potatoes or biscuits. Yield: About 1 cup of mix for 2 cups gravy.

I ENJOY READING ALL OF YOUR RECIPES, ESPECIALLY THE MIXES. DO YOU HAPPEN TO KNOW IF THERE IS A SUGAR-FREE INSTANT PUDDING MIX RECIPE THAT IS AVAILABLE? ANY FLAVOR WOULD BE APPRECIATED, BUT WE REALLY LOVE THE PISTACHIO.
    THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.
