We I came up with the idea behind Frugally Fit, I not only wanted to find easy ways to learn how to cut costs and save me, I wanted to be able to pay off debt. Me and the hubby have a goal to pay off all our debt(credit cards, medical, and car loans) besides the house in 2 years. I know that if we work really hard, even though we already live a very very frugal lifestyle that we can do it. We also have a goal for our savings account and we want to be able to save up to the Emergency Fund that Dave Ramsey recommended.
Not only have we been doing all the Frugally Fit things that I’ve been listing, we’ve also decided to minimize what we have. I started cleaning out one closet and pulling out things that I didn’t really need and it’s snowballed from there. We’ve been selling off the excess and things we can’t and aren’t using to put it towards debts.
Well today we hit our first couple milestones with our debt payoff plan and I was so excited I wanted to share:) Thanks to all the selling we’ve been doing we were able to pay off 2 credit cards fully and we made it to the low income emergency savings goal! Credit cards I just paid off online but I took the money into the bank this morning and told the teller that we made it to our first savings goal and she was so excited for me. I love having a local, small town, everybody-knows-your-name bank!
Anyways, just had to share! Feel free to share any of your getting-out-of debt accomplishments in the comments. It’s good to hear success stories and encourage each other along the way!
