Strawberry Banana Orange Julius Smoothie

As with most people, when the new year started, I wanted to start being more healthy. Included in that broad category are eating more fruits & veggies, I also wanted to make sure I take time to eat breakfast.

Sometimes in the hustles and bustle of getting everyone up, fed, and going I forget to grab something for myself. I need something quick, easy, and delicious if I’m going to eat. That’s how I became a smoothie-aholic.

Smoothies are so easy to throw together and a great way to get in fruits, veggies and some protein. Mostly I would throw whatever fruits & juice from the fridge into the blender (mostly orange juice, bananas, & strawberry yogurt).

But now I am starting to branch out a little bit. I’ve been coming up with all sorts of multi-colored smoothie concoctions. I loved to add spinach, avocados, honey, &/or dry oats. Some combinations are excellent, others are dumped down the drain.

No matter how much I branch out, I still find that the strawberry, banana & orange combination is my favorite of all.

If you have ever been to the Orange Julius and tried one of their Strawberry Banana smoothies, you will know why. Since I love it so much I decided to make my own version, it turned out delicious!

    1. I found that I really did have all the ingredient (almost, I subbed orange pineapple juice for the orange juice).
This is delicious and definitely sweet enough as is.

  8. Thanks for the great recipe! I was craving an Orange Julius smoothie but not the price. I also agree with Julie, it is perfectly sweet as you wrote it and anymore sugar would override the yummyness of the fruits!

Bought the ingredients to make this yesterday and just made it for breakfast. Not even close to the taste of an orange julius strawberry banana smoothie. Far too bitter. Even after I added an additional tablespoon of sugar.
