Creamy Ham and Egg Noodles

This ham and egg noodle recipe was so easy to make and only took me 30 minutes from start to finish. It’s been requested that I make it again and since it was such a simple dish to make (and nice and comforting for winter), I wanted to share it with you all today.

Ingredients in Creamy Ham and Egg Noodles

  • 5-6 cups egg noodles
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups cooked ham, cubed
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup cream
  • 2 tablespoons flour

Tips for Making Creamy Ham and Egg Noodles

The original recipe from my grandmother called for milk and flour for the rue. I used cream instead of the milk to make it richer and creamier and then I also added chicken broth to thin it out to make the sauce a better consistency and make it stretch a little farther.

I pan fried the cooked ham for a few minutes to give it a little more flavor before adding it in.

This recipe easily fed 6 people with many leftovers so a single recipe should serve at least 8.

  1. I made this creamy ham and egg noodles recipe for my younger siblings when our parents went out for a date, and we all loved it!!! Only for us we found that half a recipe wasn’t enough for the four of us, so we’ll make a little more next time!
