Hello, my name is a Stacy and I just recently found your site, very impressed with these easy to do recipes, normally I find a recipe and I would have to go out and buy 50$ worth of ingredients just to attempt to make it. I was wondering if you have a recipe for sunscreen, and diaper rash creme using zinc oxcide. Also anything baby would be great, if you get this thanks for your time and your know how. Take care.
I don’t have recipes for sunscreen or diaper rash cream yet but I have been posting more baby things recently so hopefully I can work on some recipes soon!
Actually, the homemade vasaline works wonders on diaper rash. Add some vitamin e to it and it’s a life saver.
For baby rash Pure Lard, yes lard my friend had a baby that was a little redhead with very sensitive skin,,an elderly neighbor came over one day,and she was saying how she had such a hard time with rash,he said use lard, she tried it & you could see the difference from one diaper change to the other.Hope this is helpful.
Pure aloe plant, split a leaf down the middle and wipe the goo on, is the only thing that would cure my son’s diaper rash. If you have a plant, it’s free lol 🙂
Hi
The best thing for diaper rash is cornstarch. My son had needed surgery when he was born for an intestinal problem and his surgeon told us to use plain old cornstarch nothing else and it worked.
my daughter used crisco and never had any diaper rash on either of her 2 children…
melt together 1/4 cup olive oil (i infuse mine with plantain and calendula),1/4 cup coconut oil, 1/2 cup beeswax, and a tablespoon or so if zinc oxide. make sure to get the non nano particle. if its not enough zinc oxide for your tastes, remelt and add a bit more. after it cools a little bit, you can add 10-20 drops lavender to this for the diper rash ointment. i made this up this summer and DH used it for chafing too .
Just found your site and have to say loving it already! Wanted to ask if anyone could recommend a substitute for cinnamon that wouldn’t change the flavor of recipes to much. My grandson LOVES apple pie, unfortunately he is allergic to cinnamon. Any suggestions?
Maybe nutmeg or ginger?
Late to the party, but you could use Ground Allspice instead.
Love reading everything from YOU!!!
Glad to find your site. Lots of great helps:)
Enjoy your website with all the interesting things that you share. I was wanting to make beef broth in the crock pot and do you have a recipe for that? I have used your chicken broth recipe and it was great! Thanks for your help.
I make beef broth the same way, I cook some kind of beef item with a bone in it (roast, ect), and then save the broth just the same as I would chicken broth. Works great!
Hi Merissa and thank you for this wonderful site. I’m wondering if you’ve ever made your own yeast? I’ve been very proud of myself for making so much from scratch lately but I am definitely spending a LOT more in yeast than I use to. Would love to learn how to make my own!
I just found this website today! I have missed out! I really like how it is organized and all of the contents.
Hello,
I was very pleased with your wisdom of how to make sauces from scratch. I have a big problem with MSG products in my food so your website will help me feed my family in a healthy and natural way. I also love that all of the ingredients are not expensive almost all of the recipes I was interested in I had all or most of the ingredients already. Thanks for sharing!
I found your site through a link on facebook that a friend posted. I am so glad I did. I haven’t tried any of the recipes yet but I will be. My niece and I will be trying several of them. We are making it a family affair. Thanks for doing this Merissa. You rock.
I love all of your homemade from scratch recipes! Especially now that my husband is on a salt restricted diet for his heart health! Since the recipes are from scratch I can adjust or eliminate the salt all together! Thanks… in essence you are a REAL lifesaver! (no pun intended) God bless!
Glad I can be of some help 🙂
Do you have the recipe for making your own oven cleaner? Someone posted this several months ago. Thanks.
Merissa, I was looking for help with canning shredded zucchini, instead of cubed. I found your pages, and fell in love with the information, hints and ideas you, and your other followers, have. My nephew lives with me and we “get by” on my social security ( until now.) You have given me such great ideas on making everything so much better, and less expensive, I might even be able to breathe a little this year. Who ever thought of making syrup from my apple peeling? I am definitely interested in many more recipes and ideas like this. I am definitely seeing a Home Made Christmas this year. Thank you for sharing your ideas. I can’t wait until my pre-ordered book arrives. That was the easiest decision I ever made about making a purchase. Thank you, once again.
I have to say, I have recently tried your homemade Tortillas and my family LOVED them! Said they are way better than store bought!!! I love seeing what new I can make from scratch that my family will love. Thank you! I think I might just need to buy your cook book!
Wish we had these

Just found this website and I have to say thank you for all of the information and money saving tips !! My husband and I are living on his social security check as we are both disabled. I have been making my own stuff for years now because I can control the ingredients and quality of them. Thanks for the website and for all you do!!
