What to Buy, Grow, and Eat in August
What to Buy, Grow, and Eat in August
August is finally here…along with all the heat it brings with it! Typically, here in South Dakota, August is the warmest month of the year. It’s not necessarily a bad thing though. Gardens are at the height of producing and there is plenty of abundance. It also tends to be a busy month for canning and preserving thanks to that very abundance and to the great deals on bulk fruit at the grocery stores and farmers markets.
As with each month of the year, there are several things that you should be buying, eating, and even growing in the month of August. This month we are beginning a new series that will take us through each month of the year so that you can “make the most of your month”. At the beginning of each month, I will be posting an article just like this one with a list of what you should be buying, growing, and eating during the following month to help you plan our your schedule and budget.
Some highlights of the August list are:
Buy –
- Summer Clothing for next year
- Back to school supplies
Grow –

- Turnips
Eat –

Hi – is there any way you can email this to me?? You ads cover up the list of things to grow except for the last 3!! That was the whole reason to *re-sign* up for your newsletter. Can you start putting the passwords in your newsletter automatically so those of us that already get your newsletter don’t have to constantly re-sign up for the newsletter? Or better yet add that article or whatever to your newsletter so we don’t have to go thru email, website, form, email back to the website.
Hi Tina, the password is located at the bottom of every single newsletter, as is the link to the free Resource Library.
